The Chronicles of Conor: Part Three

The Conor McGregor Chronicles, Part 3: The Sky is the Limit for ‘The Notorious’
By: E. Spencer Kyle, The Province

"Conor McGregor is already a star and one of the most recognizable and prominent fighters on the UFC roster.
"On the mic, he’s Chael Sonnen without having borrowed his material from former professional wrestlers and in the cage, he’s been a blur of creativity and power; a fighter with the bravado to call his shots and the skills to back up his words, at least thus far.
"The question – when you strip away the swagger and the soundbites – is just how good can the 26-year-old featherweight from Dublin be and the answer is one that is going to annoy the hell out of anyone that is already experiencing the McGregor equivalent of Cush-lash.
"It’s pretty clear already that 'The Notorious' has championship potential – he’s a win away from securing a fight with reigning featherweight kingpin Jose Aldo and as much as his route to challenging for the title hasn’t been as daunting or dangerous as some that have traveled that same road, he’s aced every test the UFC has put in front of him and possesses 'The It Factor' that warrants being hustled to the head of the list of contenders.
"What isn’t clear at this point is where McGregor’s ceiling rests and there is a very real possibility that the 16-2 fighter that carries a 12-fight winning streak into Sunday’s showdown with Dennis Siver is one of those rare talents with unlimited potential; a 'these guys don’t come around that often' type of athlete that just keeps getting better with each appearance and shows no real serious weaknesses inside the cage."
