In each round, the 36-year-old was able to contend with the wrestling and takedown attempts of Budka, landing short shots in tight  in the first before cranking up the power and impact in the second. While Budka continued to try and press forward for the takedown, Almeida kept unloaded, ultimately causing the 24-year-old American to collapse to the mat, where the follow-up blows were academic.

Late in the middle stanza of his back-and-forth clash with Dan Argueta, the Brazilian newcomer jumped on an arm-in guillotine choke, committing to the attack and looking to squeeze out the finish. With Argueta’s corner trying to inform him of the short time remaining in the round, the former TUF contestant was forced to tap before passing out just prior to the horn.

This was a gutsy, strong showing for the 24-year-old Matsumoto, who remained undefeated with the victory, advancing to 15-0 overall while showing he's someone to pay attention to in the loaded bantamweight ranks going forward. | Official Scorecards | Main Card Results

Victor Hugo defeats Pedro Falcao by unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28)

Brazilians Victor Hugo and Pedro Falcao squared off in a back-and-forth bantamweight pairing on Saturday’s prelims, turning in the first decision of the day.

Falcao came out attacking, looking to press the action in the early stages after taking the fight on short notice. Hugo dealt with the offense coming his way and returned heavy fire, landing the more telling blows throughout the contest as his short-notice opponent began to fade a little.

Neither man let off the gas over the 15-minute affair, but it was clear as the fight progressed that Hugo was the fresher and more effective of the two.

When the round scores were added up, the judges saw things the same way, awarding Hugo the unanimous decision victory. Another member of the DWCS Class of ’23, the 31-year-old newcomer moved to 25-4 with the win, running his winning streak to 14 in the process. Despite the setback, this was a solid effort with limited prep time for Falcao, who should be even better next time out with a full camp behind him. | Official Scorecards | Main Card Results

Norma Dumont defeats Germaine de Randamie by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)

Make it four-in-a-row for Norma Dumont after the Brazilian registered the biggest win over her career by out-working former featherweight champ Germaine de Randamie in Saturday's prelims.

In the first and third rounds, Dumont leaned on her grappling to ground and largely neutralized the returning Dutch veteran, landing short shots in the clinch before taking things to the canvas, and continuing to chip away once there.

“The Iron Lady” had more success in the second, doing solid work in the clinch in her first appearance in more than three years, but Dumont wisely got things back to the ground in the third to grind out the victory.

After earning three consecutive victories at featherweight ahead of this one, dropping to 135-pounds and toppling a former title challenger and featherweight champion should further elevate Dumont’s standing in the division. With the top of the weight class in a state of flux, don’t be surprised to see her in a marquee matchup later this year. | Official Scorecards | Main Card Results

Lukasz Brzeski defeats Valter Walker by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)

Lukasz Brzeski spoiled the promotional debut of Valter Walker, bouncing him from the ranks of the unbeaten while finally registering his first UFC victory.

A member of the DWCS Class of ’21, Brzeski struggled to keep things standing during the heavyweight contest, but was clearly the more effective of the two on the feet throughout. After a close opening stanza, “The Bull” outworked Walker in the second before the two men took turns having positive moments in the second.

Alex Morono Post-Fight Interview | UFC Fight Night: Allen vs Curtis 2

In the first, Morono got the better of the exchanges on the feet, showcasing superior speed and fluidity. After working out of a deep guillotine attempt to start the second, McGee found success from top position before the two spent the whole of the final round trading in space, with the Fortis MMA man Morono seemingly getting the better of things.

When the scores were tallied, it was Morono that came out ahead, getting himself back into the win column after a loss to Joaquin Buckley last time out, while McGee suffers a third straight setback in his 22nd UFC appearance. | Official Scorecards | Main Card Results
