Barao Devastated but Eager for Return

The look on former UFC bantamweight champion Renan Barao's face spoke volumes as he spoke to UFC color commentator Joe Rogan before Saturday's UFC 177 main card in Sacramento's Sleep Train Arena. Yet while he was crushed by having to withdraw from the show's main event against T.J. Dillashaw after collapsing and hitting his head during his weight cut Friday, he was still resolute in his desire to get back at the man who took his title in May.

"I want to come back and tear T.J.'s head off," Barao said.

The Brazilian insisted that he didn't do anything differently during the weight cut process, and that he was on target to make weight in Sacramento.

"I used the same methods for getting ready for this fight," he said. "I didn't think there was any problem. I just got up too quickly, fainted and hit my head."

Now it's back to the drawing board for "The Baron," who still wants his crack at Dillashaw, the man who snapped his 35-fight unbeaten streak.

"I trained harder than ever for this fight," Barao said. "I wanted to make T.J. swallow his words for everything he's been saying."
