Siver Returns in Oct. vs Whiteford

German featherweight standout Dennis Siver will make his first start since December of 2013 when he faces Scotland's Robert Whiteford at UFC Fight Night Stockholm on October 4th.

"I am very happy to be allowed to fight again after such a long time and I can't wait to get back into the Octagon," said Siver. "My opponent is perfect to get rid of the ring rust. I will try to deliver an exciting fight."

Unbeaten in three of his last four bouts, the hard-hitting Siver has been on the shelf since a positive drug test following a win over Manvel Gamburyan at UFC 168. The win was subsequently changed to a no contest. In "The Hammer," Siver will face a hungry veteran looking to keep the momentum going from his first UFC win over Daniel Pineda in March.

"I couldn't care who I fight - I'm ready for anyone," said Whiteford. "It's my time. I've been asked about his experience and if it is a factor in the fight; I'm a new breed, the upcoming generation, and there is nothing he has I haven't seen before. I am training with the best in the world, every day. Only positive things are coming out of my training, no negatives."

UFC Fight Night Stockholm will take place at the Globe Arena on October 4th, with tickets on sale in August. The whole event will be available to watch live on UFC FIGHT PASS.
