TRAINING: Most of my camp I did in Allstars Gym in Stockholm, Sweden. Two or three times a day we trained. Jiu-jitsu, MMA, kickboxing and physical trainings. The most important part of my camp was the recovery. I changed a lot in my recovery plan. Every day I used the ice bath program that Cristiano Ronaldo uses for his recovery. Amazing results.

on opponent, Khalil Rountree Jr. What does he bring to the table? He is not an expert in anything, not in striking, not in wrestling, not in jiu-jitsu or whatever, so when you bring nothing to the table, there is no seat for you at that table. Look at my record, my experience, I have like 100 professional fights. In a blink I see which weak spots a fighter has and with him I see a lot of weaknesses. You can’t train that. It’s too late, I’m already here.

It’s what I said in a previous interview. Khalil is a hard worker, I think. He’s a nice fighter, but with me, I’m sure he’s going to try and wrestle. I think a lot of wrestling coaches are going to thank me because they can make big money now. Everybody will want private wrestling lessons now because they don’t want to fight me standing up. His standup is nice. If you don’t know anything about striking, his fighting style looks sick, but I’ve fought everybody. In my eyes, he tries to strike – I am a striker. It’s like I’m Ronaldo and he just plays football in the park with his friends. If he wants to stand up, we stand up, if he wants to take it to the ground, we take it to the ground. The outcome will be inevitable. A knockout.

When and why did you start training for fighting? I started as a teenager. I played soccer on a high level and my father didn’t allow me to kickbox. I always was fascinated by martial arts and grew up with all those great movies from Bruce Lee to Jean Claude Van Damme. At one point, I took my soccer bag and I would smuggle my kickboxing stuff in it and would skip my soccer practice and go to the kickboxing lessons. Or I would go before or after my soccer practice. That’s where it all started.

Do you have any heroes? Certainly, I have persons I look up to. You can get inspired by people, their struggle, and what they have accomplished after they have endured the obstacle called life. One of those persons in particular for me is Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? I’m honored to be a part of a new family, a family that is filled with the best martial arts brothers in the world. And like in every family, I know want to show which brother is the strongest.

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? I went to high school and I started my fighting career early. I started making money and a living out of it at a young age.

What was your job before you started fighting? I had no job. I was a young kid in high school who started off making money by beating up people legally. So who needs a job at that point?
