Biografia

TRAINING:I mostly start with pad work with my coach Big John Wood. Then right into MMA training, then back at it during the evening.

When and why did you start training for fighting? I started training BJJ eight years ago because I saw Frank Mir killing everyone and it just intrigued me. I only wanted to do one pro fight and call it a career and focus on skateboarding, but here I am, about to fight for the best organization in the world.

Describe your current day-to-day life. Tell us about your family, job, etc.: I don't have a family. I wake up at 4:00 a.m. to go to work. Nap then train all night. I do this five days a week a pro wrestle on the weekends.

Why are you a fighter? Because I'm the f**king best. Because I have felt like a loser my entire life. Nothing is better than beating another human at the most intense sport. It is the most honest time of your life.

Describe your upbringing: My parents were both drug users. I spent a lot of my youth with my grandmother until she died. I then moved back with my parents who were still using and very abusive. I moved out at 15 and have been on my own since. I've been fighting for my survival for almost half my life.

What’s been the biggest challenge in your life? Being able to accept success and love. Turning all that pain into something positive.

How do you want to improve your life? I want to further my education. I went to give back to the inner city kids with no outlet. I want to set myself up for a great future.

What does a UFC contract mean to you? It means the world to me. It means I've made it. All of my hard work will have paid off. My girlfriend, Sam, died during fight week of one of my last fights. I promised her I'd make it and I fully intend to keep that promise.

Tell us something interesting about yourself: I am also a professional wrestler and a sponsored skateboarder before I found MMA. I have never lost a round in professional MMA. I've pulled my own teeth out.
Ranks in any martial arts styles: Black belt in Jiu-Jitsu under Tim Burrill

Favorite grappling technique: Mounted gogoplata

Favorite Striking technique: Tiger Uppercut
