Biografia

TRAINING: Hard work daily

When and why did you start training for fighting? I started training three years ago. I came from playing college football and decided I wanted to do something after college to stay active. So I messaged Rick Little (who is my coach now) and told him I was interested in the sport and he brought me in. I had my first ammy fight a month later and I’ve been hooked ever since.

What ranks and titles have you held? I don’t hold any glamorous titles or ranks in this sport. I am a firm believer that the only title/rank that matters is that UFC gold, so that’s what I am working towards.

Do you have any heroes? My real heroes in the sports world are Ray Lewis from the Baltimore Ravens and ​Muhammad Ali. I have just always loved their outlook on competition. They only accepted being the greatest and basically gave the middle finger to anyone who thought differently.

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? It means the world to me to be a part of this organization. I started watching the UFC at UFC​ 59. The fight was Tim Sylvia and And​rei​​​​Arlovski and ever since then I’ve loved watching this sport. That being said, my gym instills a lot of pride in putting people in the UFC and we have never been ones to quit.

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? I went to Washington State University and got my degree in Psychology and a minor in Business. I chose Psychology mainly because I find the human brain to be fascinating and I want to learn as much as I can about it.

What was your job before you started fighting? As of two weeks ago, I was a full time barista at Starbucks and a part time bouncer. I basically did what I had to in order to make ends meet.
